After a car accident back in 2001, Jennifer started experiencing frequent headaches, neck pain and back pain. “Before that, I never used to have neck spasms where I’d be doing something random, and then all of a sudden I couldn’t turn my head.”
Jennifer started seeing a physiotherapist and a registered massage therapist (RMT) regularly, both gave her only short-lived pain relief. At a party, she ran into a friend who mentioned chiropractic care for her neck and back pain and recommended a chiropractor. Jennifer decided to give it a go and booked an initial visit.
After the visit, Jennifer did not think that the chiropractor did much. “She adjusted me, which didn’t feel like much. She pushed here and there, and that was it.”
Jennifer did not feel the difference right away. However, after a few visits, she started realizing that her pain had been steadily decreasing. “The chiropractor looked at my whole body and all the connections. She adjusted areas where I did not feel any pain, but it fixed the problem.”
Recently, as a new mom, Jennifer developed back and wrist pain from breastfeeding and always holding the baby. She went back to her chiropractor and got relief.
“It was quite bad for a while, and I know a lot of my other mommy friends were suffering from similar problems. I got adjusted, and then my chiro taped me up and told me to rest for the day, and that helped a lot.” Now a seasoned patient, Jennifer keeps recommending chiropractic to her friends.
“Instead of taking drugs for your back-related issues, you should try to find the source of the problem. A chiropractor will provide the education and treatment to improve your posture and alignment and keep you free of pain.”
