Bob had an acute back injury that happened in his workplace in early 2019, and because of that he was eligible for a WorkSafeBC claim.
As many workplace injuries do, Bob’s incident came about very innocently. He lifted and moved a chair in a wrong manner. “It wasn’t very heavy or much of a move, it was simply just a combination of the wrong twist with poor body mechanics, and I could feel it happening.”
Bob was aware that chiropractors treat acute and chronic back pain, so he went directly to the source, “I wanted a solution right away, and because of the immediate access to care I thought I would directly deal with my condition.”
He searched around for a practitioner and found a chiropractor recommended by a friend. “I felt very strongly after meeting my chiropractor for the first time. I had heard good things about him, so I thought I would give it a try.”
Shortly after the incident, Bob saw his chiropractor five times over the course of one week. After each treatment, Bob has felt progressively better and entered a phase of getting in better shape for long-term results.
“I’m still tender and working stuff out. But just the sense of stability and walking more upright has been great. I can absolutely feel the change. The alignment is subtle, but it makes a huge difference.”
Bob described his chiropractic visits as hands-on and encouraging, and his chiropractor as personable yet very professional. “He shows genuine care and explains things on a level I can understand. Also, we work together on the progression and he’s inspiring me to do more.”
Asking about how to find a chiropractor that fits one’s needs, Bob suggested to search on the internet and ask for recommendations. “Listen to people who have been under chiropractic care, but always remember to speak to the chiropractor before you book your first visit.”
