Mr. Robert B. Bucher, Public Member

Experience: Robert Bucher is retired as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Pacific Blue Cross in Vancouver. Previously, Mr. Bucher served as Chair of the Occupational Health and Safety Education Authority in Ontario and a Commissioner of the Workers’ Compensation Board of British Columbia. Active in his community, Mr. Bucher has served on numerous boards such as the Blue Cross Life Insurance Company, Stroke Recovery Association of BC, and the Council of Management International Federation of Health Plans. Mr. Bucher has published numerous papers and presentations on health, disability and rehabilitation management in Ontario and British Columbia. Bob Bucher has a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from St. Joseph’s College of Edmonton and a Masters of Arts in Theology from St. Thomas Graduate School in Kenmore, Washington.

  Mr. Derek Hall, Public Member

Derek Hall is retired as Executive Director of Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation. Previously, he held various management positions with Royal Bank of Canada including Manager of the Vernon BC Branch. Mr. Hall is also a former Councilor for the City of Vernon. In the community, Mr. Hall is the Chair of the Vernon Winter Carnival Society, a member of the advisory committee with the Okanagan College Foundation, and a member and former President of the Vernon Rotary Club. In the past, he was a Director with the North Okanagan Regional District, Greater Vernon Museum and Archives, and the Downtown Vernon Association, to name a few. An expert fundraiser, Mr. Hall has taken various fundraising courses including Advanced Fundraising from Banff Centre for Management and Capital Fundraising Campaigns from the University of Wisconsin.

Doug Kellner is a Licensed Realtor in the Fraser Valley specializing in sales, land assemblies, and project assemblies. Previously, he was an Investigator in Special Projects and Federal and Provincial Statutes with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in the Vancouver Commercial Crime Section. In the community, Mr. Kellner is active as the secretary director of a mortgage company and a member of Rotary Club of Langley Central. He holds his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary.

Ms. Karen Kesteloo, Public Member

Karen Kesteloo is a Partner in the public accounting firm of Kesteloo Busse Anderson, Certified General Accountants. Her areas of interest are ElderCare and Trust and Estate Planning. Ms. Kesteloo is a Director with Coast Capital Savings Credit Union, a member of the Royal Roads University Program and Research Council, a former Governor and Finance and Audit Committee Chair of Royal Roads University, and a former Director of the Pacific Christian School Foundation and Queen Alexandra Foundation for Children. She is a recipient of the J.M. MacBeth Award of Merit for outstanding service to the Southern Vancouver Island Chapter of the BC CGA Association. Ms. Kesteloo holds the designations of Certified General Accountant, Trust and Estate Planner, and Chartered Director.
