The role of Margo Bates Publicity is to act as a resource on behalf of BC Chiropractors for establishing media relations to develop information for the public, health policy planners, and clinical practitioners. Our objective is to get your story to media in an interesting and factual way.
We speak to 115 BC media outlets regularly, maintaining over one thousand contacts with editors and reporters throughout the province. In turn, we help you gain third party credibility with patients, media, public, government and other health care practitioners … and College and Association members.
Over the past year, BC's Chiropractors have appeared on more than 25 radio and television interviews, and since January 2000, there have been over 90 stories in daily and community newspapers, for a readership of over one million.
In addition, readership and response to the College Standard and Contact newsletters has increased, as have visits to the BCCA/BCCC web site (www.bcchiro.com).
We have also seen a slight increase in public pressure, particularly with the ICBC issue. And we guarantee that the Government has heard and felt the pressure of the College and Association Executive and Board's lobbying efforts.
Our PR Strategies for 2001 will continue to focus on increased public awareness of chiropractic as a primary health care profession. We will also continue to lobby government, to ensure comprehensive health care for all British Columbians. • Tell us what you are doing for your patients
• Be a good corporate citizen in your community
• Promote chiropractic with others in your profession
• Piggyback on the publicity efforts of the College/Association
• Send us your interesting patient stories
• Inform your patients about current issues
