An Honour Bestowed
The Ambassador
for the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Ottawa recently informed Dr. Paul Viken
of West Vancouver of HM King Harald’s decision to honour Dr. Viken by
naming him an Officer of the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit. Ambassador
Johan L. Lovald writes, “There is of course no need for me to elaborate
on the reasons why His Majesty has awarded you this honour, since deeds
speak more than words. But allow me just to say this this is a most timely
recognition of your untiring efforts on behalf of Norwegians and Canadians
in the Vancouver area and to the benefit of the Normanna Rest Home.”
