Popularity of BCCA Web Site Continues to Grow
Since its launch in July of this year, the BCCA web site has received over 54,000 hits. The term “hits” refers to the number of times any visitor has accessed any part of the site. These stats are no longer used as a valid measurement for site traffic generation, as the numbers can be easily skewed by a variety of incidents. For example, if a user has the BCCC/BCCA web site set as their default page when opening their browser, each connection to the internet will count as a hit. However, the good news is, the site has received over 2,400 user sessions. The term “user session” refers to the number of times a visitor has accessed three or more unique pages, indicating a serious visitor.
In an effort to increase public awareness of our web site, the BCCC/BCCA are asking for your help. We are in the process of developing business cards imprinted with the BCCC logo, the BCCA logo and the web site address. These cards will be distributed to your office shortly. We encourage you to keep these cards up front at your reception desk and to hand them out to patients after each visit, or include them in your patient mailouts.
