Team Chiropractic Gets Back In Action For Children With Disabilities

On June 17th, Back In Action Team Chiropractic took part in the 21st Annual 24-Hour Relay at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby BC. Sponsored by the Lions Society of BC, the event raises money for 1300 children with disabilities to attend a summer camp for one full week. A long-time participant in the event, the Back In Action team takes pride in demonstrating that Chiropractors care about their community and children with disabilities. Says team captain Dr. Colin McKay: “This year's team raised approximately six thousand five hundred dollars of the 1.2 million dollars raised.”

Running almost 200 miles in 24 hours, many participants stayed up all night to cheer on teammates as they ran the 2.5-mile course in the dark. “Each relay runner was responsible for fundraising, while the sponsors supplied team uniforms, cold juice and food during the event,” says McKay. “I’d like to thank our team runners and volunteers for their continued hard work for children with disabilities.”

The Back in Action team would also like to thank its loyal sponsors including Superfeet (Mrs. Debra Heard), CMCC Alumni (Dr. Dorothea McCallum), the BCCA, and Scotiabank (Mr. Chris Maylin). If you would like to participate in next year's relay, please contact Dr. Colin McKay at 604-278-3505.
