WCB Liaison Committee Update

The most recent WCB/BCCA meeting took place on April 17, 2001. During the past two years of contract discussions with the WCB, there have been significant modifications to WCB meeting participants. The most recent changes include the replacement of Dr. David Blair as Senior Medical Advisor by Dr. Don Graham. This substitution has proven to be advantageous to the BCCA, as Dr. Blair was a past BCMA president.
Recent meeting discussions have been productive, resulting in tentative agreements on the majority of issues, with the exception of fees. The WCB has also expressed understanding with regard to providing interest on monies owing for chiropractic services.
Diverging from its previous focus, the WCB no longer appears to be preoccupied with the concept of personal service agreements. An increase in fees for services rendered is also being considered, however, the amount of the increase has yet to be determined.
